Monty’s choked out apology is replaced with an intense hiss of pain. He glances down, pads of disinfectant and gauze wiping over his skin. Stinging means it’s working, he knows. He just wishes it didn’t hurt so much.
He chances a look at Edwin. His face is tight, scrunched up with concerned anger. He’s no doubt replaying the events, trying to think of all the possible ways he could’ve stopped it; all the things he could’ve done differently.
But the fact of the matter is - Monty would rather endure an infinite lifetime of torture, than let his boys disappear.

“Huh?” She asks, because she has no context.
“I’ve gained twenty pounds since Buck and I started dating. That’s five months, that’s — that’s a lot, right?”
“Not really,” Hen lowers her magazine, “that seems like normal relationship weight, Eddie.”
Eddie leans on the couch, framing his forehead with his hand. “Buck’s gonna ruin me,” he says, completely ignoring her.
“Already happened,” Chimney says, deciding to sit on the arm of the couch. “What are we talking about?”
After gaining some weight in a happy relationship, Eddie is forced to examine his relationship with food, his body, and his self-worth.
