Summary
The pain doesn’t go away. It worsens until it’s an ever-present ache, constant and as upsetting as it is painful. Debilitating at its worst, and a plain frustration at its best. Dean's started to realise he had good days, and bad days, and honestly was just hoping that they wouldn’t have a hunt on one of the really bad ones. It hadn’t happened so far, but it was only going to be a matter of time.
OR: Dean develops symptoms of an unknown condition, and deals with it in the Winchester way (ignoring it until it causes a problem too big to ignore)

Summary
The brothers called it his 'Angel Inventory'. He didn't quite get the name, but it seemed to make them laugh, and that was enough. They had first discovered it when they were at a launderette one day - one of the few days that things were calm, where life admin could be done without fear of something (everything) trying to kill them.

Castiel had known he was falling further from the Host with each day that passed, but had naively believed it was not progressing with so much speed. He didn't realise it had gotten this far; that he was so far removed from them that the more simple of angelic tasks were now out of his reach.

Summary
The Winchesters find out that angels do not reproduce the same way as humans. Castiel explains that his vessel is not pregnant, his grace is simply splitting to make a new angel. But, even the best laid plans sometimes go awry, especially when Heaven is involved. When the Apocalypse is nigh and Castiel is running out of grace, Dean takes it upon himself to take care of Castiel and the new angel and ends up learning how much the angel means to him. Sam on the other hand, must make amends with his own angel.

LJ DCBB 2013. It’s been nineteen years since the beginning of the Last War, and the Alliance Army is losing land faster than it can supply good men to defend it. Their hope is the synthesis of Android Angeles, a series of humanoid machines designed without the capacity to feel, and thus enabling them to be the perfect super soldiers. In order to check their battle suitability, the first prototypes are sent down with a landing party of the men they will later replace, and Sergeant Dean Winchester is paired with Unit 5284-C-S-T-L for the assignment. Cas, as Dean nicknames him, is easy enough to work with - once you get past the emotional vacancy and blatant disregard for human life, that is - but as the squad's tour goes on, Dean gets to wondering whether the Android Angeles are really as unfeeling as he's been told, or if the fear of a reality in which malfunctioning prototypes will be shut down is too great for them to exist any other way.
