Tadashi’s stomach growled as he pulled his right foot back to stretch his quad. He distantly wondered if Ennoshita would continue Sawamura’s tradition of buying them meat buns. “So Tsukki, do you want to be my date for the tournament next weekend?”
The leg that Tsukishima had been stretching hit the floor with a thunk. He stared at Tadashi. “Your what?”
Tadashi had meant it as a joke, but judging by the way Tsukishima’s cheeks washed pink and his eyebrows drew together in confusion, it hadn’t exactly been received that way. Shocked, Tadashi tried to backtrack. “I—I just meant—I was wondering if you wanted to go?”
Tsukishima and Yamaguchi are just friends. So why does Yamaguchi find Tsukishima's blush so intriguing? And why does Tsukishima find himself wanting to lean into Yamaguchi's warmth?

Hajime likes to think that he is completely personable and well-socialized and normal. It’s everyone else in their office—a rinky-dink room on the second floor of a neglected business park, divided by clumps of cubicles, a conference room, and a corner office—that’s crazy.
He has a grand total of four work acquaintances. Yahaba, who is judgmental and nosey while pretending not to be, does not count.
He has two work friends: he was somehow roped into an arrangement in which he goes out for beers with Matsukawa and Hanamaki every other Friday, in addition to all of the other obligatory office drinking parties, and they groan and grumble about how much they hate their respective jobs while getting shit-faced drunk.
And he has one inconvenient, all-consuming work crush, which has yet to fade despite the fact that it’s been one year, three months, and thirteen days since Hajime first started working at Aoba Johsai Incorporated—give or take a few.
Oikawa Tooru from accounting drives him fucking crazy.

A moment of silence passes between them before Oikawa quietly, lamely, replies with: “Card.”

He’s not sure why, but something akin to pity settles in his chest and he finds himself wondering if the man had been stood up by his date.
It might seem silly, but he feels a kinship with the stranger.
In a large space filled with couples celebrating their love, they are two lost souls hidden among the masses.
Perhaps it’s the alcohol or the cozy setting of the restaurant, or the spirit of Christmas, but Oikawa rises from his chair to approach the man. After all, nobody should be dining alone after they’ve been stood up by someone.
(or: oikawa thinks iwaizumi got stood up by his date and promptly joins him for dinner).
