Фактически она была вынуждена просто говорить правду. Что то измерение, в котором Стив, безопаснее всех остальных. Что он станет потрясающим отцом. Что она раз за разом во всех возможных мирах всегда будет выбирать его, даже не имея ни малейшей надежды на взаимность.
[Или Стиву Харрингтону не грозит кризис ориентации, но это не значит, что все будет просто.]

“Don’t start something you can’t finish, Harrington.” She threw his words right back at him. In her mind, she meant it as a joke. Spoken out loud, the silent urgency was too clear to ignore. After everything she’d been through, she didn’t think she could take anymore surprises.
A wisp of a smile cut through his stoic mask, reminding her again just how unfairly pretty he was. Far too pretty for a regular guy. Far too pretty, even with the scars from the outline of that demon tail’s grip, the bruise a vivid red, a near perfect shade to the slightly, more jagged cuts slashed across his chest. As he brushed that thumb over her bottom lip again, more slowly this time, Eddie felt those shivers reach down to her toes.
“I always finish what I start, Munson.”
The five times Harrington surprised Eddie and the times she surprised him right back

Steve was elbow-deep in the returns bin at Family Video, sorting One Crazy Summer from a stack of tapes that definitely weren't One Crazy Summer, when the morning went from ordinary grey to something with teeth in it.
The feeling of the air getting thicker, the sensation of a storm front rolling in over the quarry; a wall of green-black cloud eating up the blue one inch at a time. Except this wasn't green-black. This was something closer to rust. Old-penny orange, tinged with a sick yellow underneath, spreading out from somewhere across town and seeping into every person who walked through the door.
