Jon wears this scarf all the time whenever he’s away from home. Even though it's spring, he doesn't care; Damian criticizes his fashion sense and his classmates tease him for it, but Jon doesn't mind because, for some reason, wearing it makes him feel safe.
Jon is taking remedial classes to bridge the seven-year gap in his education—a decade of growth he lost while trapped in a volcano on Earth-3 by Ultraman. Now, a year after his return, he’s also attending therapy as he prepares for college. He is trying to reclaim the life that, for everyone else, only stopped for three weeks."

Damian blinked and smiled slightly before looking for the owner of the voice. He saw Jon, still in his tuxedo, soaring against the upper façade of the building. Jon had a smile plastered across his face, looking like someone who was doing the impossible — floating more than ten feet in the air.

"Not if you don't point out I'm here."Jon winked, putting a finger to his lips. "Do you need rescuing, Mr Wayne?"

"I knew I'd find you up here".
Damian blinked beneath his mask and looked up. Jon's dark cloak billowed in the wind against the moonlight. Damian shook his head before looking back at the now silent street. "What are you doing here, J?" he asked, and Jon lost altitude.
"I... felt a surge in your heartbeat," Jon admitted, scratching the back of his neck. "So I thought you were brooding again."
Damian wanted to laugh. Jon knew him so well that it was almost exhausting, but he would never admit that he was right. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Okay, let's play your game," he joked, sitting down next to Damian. "I'll just sit here."
They remained in complete silence for what seemed like forever. Neither of them intended to break the moment by saying anything to the other. Sometimes, they knew, simply sitting on the roof of a building was far more meaningful than a thousand words, but it was Damian who broke the silence with a long, heavy sigh, as if he was exhaling everything he had been holding inside until that moment.

“You don’t have to justify yourself.” Damian put away his phone, lacing his fingers in his lap with an amused smile. “I like you for that too, not just your pretty face.”
Jon laughed. “Well, thanks”
____“How was your work?”
“You know, the usual stuff. Samples for a new tech suit and some cybernetic enhancements for Mr. Stone arrived today. Everything is perfectly normal.”
“Ironic to hear you talk about normality when STAR Labs is known precisely for being the 'scientific backbone' of the superhero world.”
Jon rubbed his neck with a nervous smile, his gaze fixed on the pages as if feigning extreme interest. Damian wasn't entirely wrong. "It's... complicated. There, I can help all our friends, put my scientific knowledge at everyone's service, but at the same time I can be myself without any of my colleagues giving me preferential treatment just because I'm...
