Summary
“How long have we worked together -- seven years?” Hal asked. “Did you know Batman was married?”
“No,” Barry said, shrinking back a little in his seat.
“No offense,” Oliver said, turning back to Bruce. “But who would be unlucky enough to marry you?”
or, the one where Batman lets a crucial detail slip during a Justice League meeting and an unlikely ally steps in.

Robby isn't keen on PTMC's newest employee—entirely unaware that he's already falling for Jack in the anonymity of an internet message board.
Or, let's mash up The Pitt and You've Got Mail.

Summary
You have three new messages. First message, from 4:12 AM.
Hey Samira, I’m gonna just keep calling until I’ve spoken to you or you show up in the Pitt, but uh… you gotta come get your boy. He’s f-fine, just a little concussion, it may or may not be my fault—I didn’t start the fight, but I sure didn’t de-escalate it, you know? Anyway, Abbot saved my ass from getting murked in Chairs and uh. It’s not great. Love you, bye!
Second message, from 4:18 AM.
Hey Samira, he’s specifically asked me to stop calling you, but I’m more afraid of you than I’m afraid of him, because you’ll be disappointed in me and that’s worse—

Summary
They were supposed to be just coworkers.
Then it was rivalry, a constant ache, sharp as a thorn in one's side.
Then it was comfort.
Then it was something else entirely.
They never meant to let it matter.
It started as friction, turned into comfort, and ended up somewhere between need and regret.
Some things stay lodged deeper than they should.Series

Summary
They aren’t his family, not in the traditional sense. But the idea that they might be, that they could be, unsettles him more than he wants to admit. It’s the same quiet dread that hit him when Collins said he had helped raise Amy. He doesn’t know why exactly. Maybe because imagining them as a family implies imagining him and Jack as something. And that’s just absurd, right?
Or: Robby has been a quiet constant in the lives of Abbot and his daughter, filling a space that was never clearly named. As they drift into their fifties, he begins to recognize that his feelings for Jack may have deepened into something real and perhaps impossible. Now he’s left wondering if this almost-family could ever truly be his.

Darnell nodded, glancing over Robby like he was trying to place him in the hierarchy of important to ignorable and it could go either way. "What's this?"
"MSF FNG," Jack shot back. Whatever that meant, he sounded amused.
Darnell scoffed and looked to Robby, expression going decidedly unimpressed. "Oh, yeah? You here to find yourself? Have an adventure? Do something hard?" he asked, each question more mocking than the last.
And there was that question again, like it was haunting Robby. He stifled his instinct to bite back and kept it simple: "I'm here to help."

“C’mon,” Jack eggs him on. “You know you want to.” His head lowers closer, his gaze so heavy Robby can feel the weight on his skin as well as he can feel Jack’s physical form pressing him down. “Doctor Abbot. Say it.”
Robby licks at his lips; his reward is Jack’s eyes darting down to catch the movement before flicking back up to catch Robby’s again.
“You haven’t even finished with my charts,” Robby replies, his voice slightly more hoarse than he’s expecting, but it adds what he considers to be the appropriate huskiness to his following, “Doctor Abbot.”

Summary
“I haven’t really been to a wedding where I’ve, uh… let loose. But, hey,” Dennis shrugged, “maybe I’m doing it wrong.”
“If I hadn’t already agreed to go to this conference, I’d offer to go with you,” Robby said casually. “Show you how it’s done. I’ve got a good track record as a plus-one, too.” Dennis had to say something. To interrupt. To shut this down. But what was he supposed to say? No, you can’t be my plus one, because I lied about my cousin, and there is no wedding, and it seems a little weird to bring a date to a fucking funeral– “Apparently parents love it when you bring home a doctor.”
And just like that, the bubble popped.
“I’m not gay,” Dennis snapped.
He had never hated the sound of his own voice as much as he did right then.
---
Or, Dennis is anxiously headed home for a "wedding" in Broken Bow, Nebraska, the details of which are increasingly fuzzy. Robby's got a medical conference in Omaha that same weekend. So they carpool. Seventeen hours both ways in an enclosed space with no way out except a tuck and roll. This'll go great. -

Summary
Robby follows him as Jack starts working on the coffee, taking a seat at the peninsula that divides the kitchen from the rest of the apartment.
“You still like it burned or have you gotten better taste since last time?” he teases, throwing a quick glance at Robby, who makes a face at him.
They don’t do this often, crashing at each others’ places. Jack honestly can’t remember when exactly that last time was. Close to a year, he thinks, a Pirates game with a rain delay that then went into extra innings. It’s not that they don’t hang out when their schedules allow for it, it’s just that there’s always been more of a distance in their relationship outside work, like somehow the halls (and roof) of PTMC allow for more vulnerability than the halls of their own homes.
“At this point I'll take whatever you give me and I'll like it,” Robby says, definitely with a grimace this time.

Summary
“Don’t worry, Scott caught me up on everything,” Kira assures with a bubbly smile via video-chat. “You and Derek, huh? I probably should have seen that coming. I always thought it might be Cora, but Derek was the one that looked at you how I used to look at you.”
Stiles goes a little pink. “It’s still kinda new but, yeah. I really like him. He’s...” Beautiful. Patient. Smart. Painfully honest. Sweet. “...a total dork.”
Kira laughs and laughs. When she gets herself together, she replies, “Yeah, those little hearts and stars in your eyes definitely say different."
or
Stiles moves from the shiny, fast-paced lifestyle of Los Angeles to the foggy, sleepy town of Beacon Hills so his dad can become the new sheriff. Newly fifteen, he does his best to finish out his freshman year of high school (by staying under the radar) when he suddenly becomes the Beyoncé of the Supernatural community. And, without much prompting on his part, he ends up catching the eye of one of the most prominent Werewolf families in all of North America. It literally all starts with a stuffed animal(s).

Summary
Sokka felt his gaze being drawn back to the table – back to the boy. He was staring back with an odd expression that Sokka couldn’t explain – he seemed simultaneously curious and frustrated.
Sokka dropped his eyes and asked the table, “Which one is the boy with the black hair and the scar?”
“That’s Zuko,” Suki said, and Sokka felt an inexplicable warmth in his stomach at learning his name. “Totally gorgeous – the straight girls here are all in love with him. Total waste of their time though, he doesn’t date.”
Sokka laughed at that and then, without thinking, glanced back over at the boy – at Zuko. He had turned his face away, but Sokka swore he was smiling too.
