    Summary

What would've happened if Yu Ziyuan had gone too far while also cutting Wei Wuxian’s right hand?

A hot, burning wave of tears spilled over his eyelids. He tried to stop it, tried to force the weakness back down into the dark, but his shoulders began to violently heave, washing away the white powder to reveal the raw skin beneath for a simple orphan boy, he had no place to call home. He buried his face into the old woman’s shoulder, his entire frame shaking with the force of his suppressed, weeping gasps.

‘Why can't I stop?’ his mind screamed, a pure, desperate panic engulfing his thoughts. ‘Why does my chest feel like it's full of lead? What is wrong with me?!’

He just wanted to disappear. He wanted to curl into a tiny, unmoving shadow in the dark, away from human need and never have to face the reality of his own body ever again.

Was any of this worth it? The silence, the hand, the life? Was a mere servant like him even worth the air he was using by walking the same earth as others?

    Summary

Six first parts of the Incense Burner Extra 2, drawn by the manhua artist of Mo Dao Zu Shi, Luo Di Cheng Qiu, also known as Mao Tuan Xiao Jian Jian. It's not an official art, rather what is called a "doujinshi". The artist allows translations.

I've separated this chapter into two different works on AO3 because of the different types of audience they are intended for (the second is explicit, with some underage/non-con stuff).

Context: Happens after the Incense Burner Extra 1, where Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian had entered a dream world because of a magic Incense Burner. There, they had witnessed one of their old dreams. Wei Wuxian's was about living in a farm with Lan Wangji as his husband, and Lan Wangji's was about r*ping Wei Wuxian in the Library Pavilion while they were teenagers after the latter had teased him with a pornographic book (who would have thought?! XD).

    Summary

The first thing Wei Ying became aware of was cold steel at his throat.
    Not one blade—several.
    He did not move.

Sleep still clung to him, heavy and disorienting, but instinct burned through it fast enough. His eyes cracked open to darkness cut by lantern light, and beyond it, the rigid silhouettes of Gusu Lan disciples. White robes. Swords steady. Not trembling.
    Not a mistake, then.

Wei Ying let out a slow breath, careful not to shift against the edge pressing lightly into his skin. “Well,” he said, voice rough with sleep, “this is a new way to wake up.”

    No one laughed.
That, more than the swords, told him something was very wrong.

“You will come with us,” one disciple said. Young. Formal. Afraid—but hiding it well. “You are to be detained and questioned.”

“Questioned?” Wei Ying echoed. His mind raced, sifting through the previous day. Punishments—yes. Lan Wangji standing over him like a silent judge. Copying rules until his wrist ached. Kneeling until his legs went numb. Nothing new, nothing unusual, nothing that should end with… this.

He frowned. “Did I break a new rule I haven’t heard of yet?”

    Summary

Modern cultivator, Wei Wuxian, dies in a train crash and is sent back in time to the period of Ancient China he had been writing his thesis on - transmigrated into his own body as a child, dying on the streets of Yiling. He has no money, no family, but a knowledge of modern cultivation and of the historical events that are about to unfold.

He recalls the recently-unearthed journal of a woman who was imprisoned in Cloud Recesses against her will, and decides that she’s a good place to start to find someone who might be willing to help him dismantle the corruption that had sent the Cultivation World into the Dark Ages so long ago.

Of course, he had no idea that the person he sought would be the mother of Hanguang-Jun, the object of Wei Wuxian's fascination (“obsession,” his friend had corrected), since he had first learned of his existence in the ancient texts he'd studied.
