Summary
Alastor hummed, rapping his claws against the wooden table top as he considered whether he was more in the mood to see Vincent deflate and stammer or perk up and—still stammer, the stammering was rather a given.
Two whiskeys in and on his third, he was feeling a bit amicable.
“I think the idea has merit. There’s no shortage of violent predators to entertain with a show about violent predators.”
And perk up Vincent did, eyes blown wide and grin clipping off his face.
“You think so?” he asked in a voice both small and giddy at once, somehow.
“Mhmmm.” The pleasantly acrid twang of the whiskey was beginning to curdle sickly sweet the longer Alastor gazed into the open earnestness of Vincent’s face, so he turned his head again, taking another long sip of his whiskey and leaving only a half a swallow left. The barkeep met his eye and Alastor wordlessly tossed him another coin as he refilled the glass.

Or Alastor and Vincent spend some time at their regular drinking hangout spot, Alastor overdoes it and gets suddenly very ill on the walk back home, and Vincent gets him the rest of the way back and tucks him in. After all, that’s what friends are for, right?
