Summary
Mutta kuulemma he olivat täällä tarkoituksesta. Geraltille sitä ei vain vielä oltu jaettu.

Summary
wearing an olive drab but feeling
somehow inside opalescent"It's a simple charm, really," was just about all Wendell would offer on the topic by way of exact description. Not surprising, as this is par for how much I tend to get out of Folk when interrogating them on the nature and usage of fae magic. Instead, a mischievous look crept onto his features and he said, "But it has many uses."
"Other than entrapment?" I asked, capping with a decisive forkful of salad.
"Certainly," Wendell said. "You've experienced it yourself, you know how it feels. Surely you can imagine what sorts of things that kind of spell is used for."

Summary
you arrive along with the sun
where have you been, darling, what have you done? After a long absence, Ciri returns to her surrogate parents in a flash of misty light. She's, in a word, wrecked, having been caught by her Elder Blood powers in a tic-like loop of jumping from sphere to sphere. She knew, though, that she'd have a sanctuary in Geralt and Yennefer's home, and she's right. Unfortunately, though, some things are beyond anyone's control.

Summary
depollute me, pretty baby
suck the rot right out of my bloodstreamShe was in Lisa's bedroom, and no one could see her. The scars on her arm painted a glowing pink zig-zag like an bubblegum technicolour earthquake had hit the void beside her. The shapes divoted in her skin, but they were a flat, cloudy window, as if she was nothing but a solid mass of crystal underneath. Breathe—in, out. You're flesh. You're meat.
Recovering from Pandoria, Anne attempts to sleep. Lisa helps.

Summary
you can't wake up, this is not a dream
you're part of a machine, you are not a human beingIt came with its own aches and troubles, being a witcher. Not only were the Trials torture and the Path gruelling, but the mutations aren't exactly predictable. They're a crapshoot—the reason seven of ten kids die is because seven of ten times, the things they do to you are things you can't return from. But things you can return from still leave marks that never heal. Just because a handful of boys come out with their limbs and minds in tact, without losing their sight or their ability to eat or speak or the function of their vital organs doesn't make them perfect specimens.
In short, there are flaws. Every witcher has them.

Summary
Because you underline everything you read, and circle the things you think are important, and put stars next to the things you think I should think are important,
and write notes in the margins about all the people you're mad at,
and my name almost never appears there.
