Summary
Toya was born to know this. He shouldn't think any different.
He knows how much joy he can produce by just a simple melody. He knows the speech his father gives about how classical music enriches one's life, word for word. He knows the ache in his fingers that he gets from practicing over and over. He knows the unsettled feeling throbbing in his chest all too fondly, because he knows this future will never change.
This is the path of starlight he was meant to stride down. This is the road to happiness that he never got to choose; and he is happy, because this way of living is nothing if not joyous.
...But maybe he can change his future, if the person staring at him in the mirror isn't himself.

Summary
"According to a paper that appeared in Nature in 1987, the Acyrthosiphon pisum, a sap-sucking insect commonly known as the pea aphid, has been known to explode itself in order to protect its surrounding relatives from predators such as the ladybug, thereby sacrificing its life."
He swears that he'll get it right this time.
