Summary
I promise, Jay, to love you loud. Now, while we are young, and when we are old someday. When we are certain and when we are not. When we are happy and when we are sad. Through all of it, I will love you more than I ever thought I'd be allowed.
When Jay and Jake finally tie the knot, Jake can't help but be reminded of everything that once was, and what could have been.

Summary
“You surf?” the boy asks, also standing up, walking towards Jay.
“Yes,” Jay responds curtly as he picks up his board.
“Wait!” Jay turns around slowly, slightly peeved, but grows even more irritated as he acknowledges once again just how cute this guy is. Jay can’t believe someone so beautiful can be so exasperating. “Make sure you check in the next few weeks. They’ll probably hatch soon.”
Despite his kindness, and cuteness, Jay can’t help but feel like this boy is trouble. Jay didn’t do much research on the town before traveling here — has no idea how big or small it really is — but based on the twelve hours he’s been here, Jay has an inkling that everyone seems to know each other. And with that, Jay also has an inkling that he’s going to definitely see this boy again.
When elite surfer Jay Park is invited to train with a world-famous Olympian, he's determined to rebuild his confidence and skill, especially after coming off a big loss. He leaves everything he once knew in Malibu to train on the Atlantic coast and find his spark again — no excuses, no distractions.
Only thing is, there's one problem: he's falling for his coach's son.

Summary
Jay genuinely felt like a mother, especially as he browsed the showrooms with his angsty teenage son Jake trailing behind him. A mentally healthy Jake would have been actively participating in the shopping, excitedly pointing out cool items with his metaphorical tail wagging and ears perked up. This Jake, however, scowled and dragged his feet like he would rather be at home playing Fortnite with his friends on Discord.
Jay brings a brooding, newly-broken-up-with Jake with him to IKEA.

Summary
The first letter came to him in 2020, now forgotten three years later, hidden between the pages of a dusty notebook he hasn't opened in ages.
To Jake, are you surprised by my letter? I learned a lot from you. I hope you succeed. From…Jay.
The second letter comes to him first in the Christmas of 2020, written in colored pens in the living room of their first dorm. It comes back to him on the last day of November 2023.
To Jaeyunie, This is 2020 Jongseong. At this point, would we still be eating ramyeon every night? Would we be closer than before?
The third letter finds him on the evening of Jay’s birthday. Or rather, he finds it, pressed between surfaces meant to conceal it. Curious, he opens the folded paper, only to find the penmanship he knows all too well.
Sim Jaeyun... What should I do?

Summary
Jake drops the paper on Jay. "Read it."
After a few seconds of staring at each other on both of their parts, Jay reads it.
Then he puts it aside. "It's stupid."
"No it's not."
"It is. It's really stupid."
"But you'll follow it?"
According to the contract, neighbors don't kiss, don't intrude on each other's lawns, and don't have feelings. Interpretations can but shouldn't vary.
Jay's going to stay far, far away from him now.
(Jake's only a little bit in love with him.)
