Summary
Music has always been an inseparable part of Beomgyu’s life, and he thought Soobin was too. They started out as starry-eyed kids in a band, falling in love as their career skyrocketed, but with the rise of their fame came the inevitable crash. Now they stand on the big stage every night, singing songs about each other, love songs and heartbreak anthems alike. A fragile truce holds them together for the sake of the band, but as they embark on their 1993 tour, old feelings arise and the lines between them blur, as they always seem to do.

Summary

Central Italy, 1983.
For Beomgyu, the lazy summer at his parents' villa is upended by the arrival of Soobin, presumably another stiff summer graduate, all perfect collars and polite thank-yous.
He expected someone who would keep to himself, scribble notes, charm his father, and leave in September. That was how it always went.
But he didn’t know yet that this time would be different. He didn’t know anything, despite thinking he knew it all.

Beomgyu shrugged. “I thought it’d be easier to just say it.”
“Easier,” Soobin repeated, voice too thin. “But I’m—Beomgyu, I care about you. Of course I do. You mean a lot to me. But I’m not in love with you. How does that make anything easier?”
Beomgyu confesses. Soobin rejects him. Somehow, it's not Beomgyu's heart that gets broken.
