Summary
“the hell are you on about?” chuuya says with his fangs showing. boiling point toppling over.
the executives fingernails pinch unintentionally at the bandage covered skin of dazai’s neck as the knife is dropped, the sound of its handle scraping against cement causes dazai to wince. discomforted by the abrasion.
the collar of the detective’s dress shirt is bunched up, held tightly between the redhead’s fist as he waits for a full-hearted explanation.
“you know.” dazai purrs as chuuya’s hand falters, goes weak at the smoothened pitch. an unconscious and accidental feeling of serenity claws its way through. “how you let go so willingly?”
chuuya’s breath catches in his throat, tightens his esophagus in past resemblance.
dazai finishes off his sentence in a hushed-tone, as if he were purposely toying with him. jabbing into and reopening that scabbed over sore that chuuya had desperately tried to heal himself — to live through.
“it’s almost like you wanted me to.”

Summary
albatross clicks his tongue, gaining his friends attention back almost instantly. “can i come by tonight?”
“what’s the occasion?” chuuya shoots him a look, puzzled by the suggestion.
albatross had never asked to hang out this directly before, and doing it right in front of dazai was something newer, fresh. purposeful and full of meaning — like he wanted to say something more direct, unlike last time.
it was clear to nakahara that although albatross had fallen for him first and foremost, dazai was very unpredictable, but that’s what made him enticing. he was promiscuous, but not entirely.
dazai rarely ever let anyone crack him open, so the way that albatross eyed his partner with a puppy-like twinkle in his eye, threw him off balance. left him bewildered by the valour albatross withheld.

dazai finds himself in a weird spiral of competition, albatross falls victim to that rivalry.

Summary
it wasn’t uncommon for chuuya to bare his teeth while he was upset, dazai was used to that; but for some unexplained reasoning it stung when it came to this topic. dazai can’t differentiate whether it’s due to the reactivity set in chuuya’s tone, or if his behaviour was actually out of hand.
to him, the first makes more sense. he had already established vulnerability in front of chuuya numerous times. allowed him to sweetly pepper kisses along his jaw while prying dazai’s innards out. exposing his heart and loving it — him, with every ounce of his being.
there’s a halt in conversation as dazai dangles a section of noodles onto his utensils, then leans in to take a bite. allowing them to snap in half rather than proceeding onwards with the meal. he was full anyways.
“no one.” dazai says, swallowing down a final bite.

buried deep, within the port mafia’s torture chamber, dazai osamu struggles to keep his head aligned. chuuya nakahara takes notice.

entangled limbs were quotidian. in fact, the gesture had become a second nature. habitual and affectionate. consolidated in delirium, and on occasion; desire.
what dazai osamu displayed on the outside wasn’t at all similar to his entrails. it was a semblance, a double-ended facade. one that stirred up litres of inessential curiosity.
albatross was a victim of that exact deliberation. it was odd, the infatuation that stirred in his chest. prying at him as if the hollowed out display in dazai’s core was spellbinding.
albatross was enticed, and dazai knew that whole heartedly.

chuuya can’t pinpoint whether it’s due to the vacancy in his eyes, or because he had been a first hand witness to the cruelty his partner suppressed.
his core leaps, uneasily. mortified by the facade shown.
he’s pale, but not in that sickly manner chuuya often tended to after dazai had neglected his needs.
he’s lurid. blanched, like he was roadkill that had been gnawed at and toyed with, while his remains were left to rot.
of course, chuuya isn’t stupid. he’s aware of the situation at hand. he had caught drowsy glimpses of it. he heard most of it despite the narcotics that had been administered and left him boneless, trapped in a state of helplessness while dazai needed him most.
still, it feels wrong to speak of.

somehow, dazai and chuuya fuck up a mission.
