Cheryl smiles, much too casually, and begins. “As a firsthand witness to your ill-advised, gratuitous lip-lock with Betty Cooper at the Vixen tryouts, I assume you have no qualms about kissing girls?”
Veronica lapses back. Because it’s easy.
“No qualms about kissing girls,” she responds with a shrug. “Many qualms about kissing the winner of hell’s Jessica Rabbit look-alike contest.”

Toni leans forward — she's so close that Cheryl can smell the mint of the gum she's chewing — like she's actually listening, like she cares about what Cheryl has to say. And it's strange, in a way, how Toni Topaz can make her stomach flutter in the same way Archie does.
Cheryl likens it to a strange symptom from her starvation for affection.
"Married?"
"No." She says, and she feels a bit embarrassed for how harsh it sounds. "Soon, maybe. I don't know. It's… complicated"
