A part of the forest. Here, it had nothing to fear. Hongjoong had heard stories of beasts like these, protectors of the jungle. Half human, half beast.
Hongjoong’s breath caught in his throat as the understanding rolled over him harsher than any riptide. After so long around humans again he could recognize the power he stood next to, the terror contained within an immortal body. This was a god, a deity.
After being marooned in the forest and left to be torn apart by the monsters within it, the respite Hongjoong finds is in the den of a snake.
