“Captain Zhang, I'll see you next week.”
Hanbin gives him his best smile, he's been secretly practicing in front of the mirror to make sure it doesn't look awkward or scary.
After watching him for a long moment, Zhang Hao smiles softly back.
"...I'll see you next week too, Guide Hanbin.”
Hanbin melts at the spot. He honestly doesn't want to say goodbye yet.
Unless.
“Can we —“
“Do you —“
They say in sync.
Hanbin’s heart blooms and there are butterflies in his stomach. His face goes red and so does his captain. He actually isn't sure whose emotion he is feeling right now. He feels embarrassed, happy and hopeful even though they both hadn't finished their sentence yet.
They both just know that the weather feels so beautiful today.
And on that beautiful day, they both decide that they will never let go of each other's hands again.
Or, Sung Hanbin, the only S-Rank Guide in the country, gets assigned to Zhang Hao, the country's only S-Rank Sentinel, under a sketchy company all while trying to figure out their feelings beyond the connection and, ideally, not die.

Summary
The letter had been dated 2021, last year. Hao’s immediate assumption was that someone had written the wrong year by mistake. People did that all the time, especially in January, but it was nowhere near the beginning of the year. It was nearing the end of autumn, which made the mistake considerably harder to explain.
A month before the first Boy's Planet filming, Hao receives a letter from Hanbin.

“Haneul,” he says blankly. “As in my Haneul? Haneullie?” At this, he glances around the bed in panic, and indeed, his childhood plushie has vanished.
“Yeah! Your Haneullie!” The guy says, beaming so widely that the apples of his cheeks curve up prominently. “Oh, I'm so happy to be able to say that aloud!” He sits up in bed and claps his sweater-pawed hands together.
Speaking of sweater paws… now that Hanbin takes in the other man’s appearance, the light brown sweater with pink accents on the sleeves, matching brown shorts with a white bow at the waist… The colour palette matches perfectly, which leads him to conclude, “Am I dreaming? Did I… Did I dream up my plushie into… a human imaginary friend?”
The boy in front of him laughs, a loud, bright sound that makes Hanbin’s chest flutter. “No, this is real. here-“ He reaches out to poke Hanbin’s cheek. “- feel that?”
or: Hanbin returns from his first semester of college and his childhood plushie has become the boy of his dreams. Cue the chaos, misunderstandings, and just a little bit of flirting.
