    Summary

The Ryland Grace Memorial Diner sat between a construction site and a cluster of small apartments on the recovering streets of San Francisco.

It was founded in 1972, renamed in 2051, and in 2053, a statue of a schoolteacher was erected within its walls. Now, it attracted tourists and students alike, bright eyes and eager minds all competing for a view of Earth’s most beloved man in man’s most beloved habitat.

Or: A look at the people of the San Fran diner Grace goes to every morning for breakfast in the book.

"I don't want to talk about it." Tim said.

"It?" Steph snapped, "The fact that he sleeps in your bed and cooks you breakfast and there's a second fucking toothbrush in your bathroom? That he only listens to you? That you're wearing his fucking shirt right now? That it?"

"Yeah." Tim agreed. "That's the one."

"Taicho… weird chakra warning?" Bat says.

Hawk tries not to sigh. "On a scale of… Land of Snow to Land of Mist, how weird?"

"That's not really a scale, taicho," she says reproachingly, "and even if it were, I think we'd disagree over which is more severe. But probably more like Land of Snow? Maybe… avoid using earth flow? And if anyone finds any strange seals, intricate carvings or weird rocks… well. Don't touch it?"

"You heard her," Hawk says. "Let's find Mukade and get out of Roran before anything goes wrong."
