    Summary

He didn’t feel the cold anymore. The snow landed softly on his broken body, unnoticed. Somewhere in the distance, people screamed, their panic a faint murmur against the overwhelming silence inside him.

Spider-Man had always known he’d die someday.

But the truth was, he was afraid of death.

The next time when Peter woke up, he found himself drowning in some unknown substance, his eyes burning open and limbs secured by what felt like metal. The water filled his mouth, nose, ears, and lungs, causing a searing sensation within him. He could feel his body attempting to heal, stitching up wounds as he struggled to remember the exact reason why this was happening. His muscles burned with exertion. The boy choked on the liquid until he could do so no longer.

He was pulled upward, unable to hear anything but a ringing in his ears. Coughing up blood and the green liquid, he turned his head to avoid further choking. The chains grated painfully against his skin, causing irritation and overwhelming stimulation. His wet clothes aggravated his skin, provoking an urge to scratch despite knowing there would be no relief. The rough texture of the table scraped against his bare feet and arms.

    Summary

Peter Parker has drowned only once before, in the New York harbor. He was chasing after some crooks selling illegal weapons to people in Brooklyn, crooks he later finds out were working for the Vulture. Peter was only in the water for five, maybe ten seconds, before he was saved by Tony.

    That was nothing like this.

It wasn’t even drowning at first. It was more like the marrow of his soul was being minced into thin chunks, leaving nothing more than wood chips. His who was cut away from his what while his spider-sense blared in his ears. Into what used to be his ears. It seemed like all of his atoms decided to tear themselves apart from each other, like a nasty divorce. It was a surprisingly dry feeling. There was nothing warm and sticky soaking into his clothes, no metallic tang in the air. How can fat and cartilage give way like potato skin and not feel wet? His muscles twitch at the thought, but the body is still.

May. He cried, his vocal cords disturbingly slack. I want my Aunt May.

    Summary

Peter Parker died on Titan. Or at least, he was supposed to. He remembered it clearly: the fatality, the horror, the dust, the stubborn ache of his healing factor attempting to save him from the impossible.
But he also remembered waking up in a freezing cave, drenched in a glowing green goop he’d fought tooth and nail to get out from.
Peter Parker was meant to die on Titan. So why was he in an alternate universe, trying to survive the winter with nothing but the will to build a makeshift heater?

    Or,
Now three years younger and with rapidly evolving abilities due to the Lazarus Pit, ex sixteen year-old Peter Parker (he refuses to call himself thirteen) finds himself homeless, alone and freezing in Gotham’s brutal winter. He goes dumpster-diving behind a suspiciously high-tech house in Crime Alley, desperate to build a heater —naturally, Parker Luck strikes again.
Because it happens to be one of the safehouses belonging to a certain vigilante with eyes and a white streak far too similar to Peter’s.
Red hood knows. He knows what that means. He has no choice but to approach him.

    Summary

It’s the first time in a while that he doesn’t know what comes next. He’s dove into the water hundreds of times. Screamed as his flesh was torn apart, heard Master of Puppets in the distance and held back tears. Felt Max’s cold, small hand in his as she laid in the hospital bed. There are things that always happen, no matter how hard he tries: El doesn’t arrive in time. Eddie dies. Max is put in a coma.

    Steve fails. They lose.

“Steve, how many loops have you been through?”

His head is nodding, and his eyes are watery, and Eddie has approached him like a spooked animal.

    “I lost count.”

AKA: The one where Steve Harrington is stuck in a time loop, and Eddie Munson is really fucking hard to save, or: fuck Volume 2, these bitches are in love.
