Summary
Arcade Gannon is, at his core, a very good, yet distrusting man.
Benny is, at his core, a very selfish, yet determined man.
The Mojave is on the precipice of change, and while neither of them can do much on their own, they find that putting their heads together might be enough to make a decent plan of action despite their differences. Though when ghosts of their pasts come back to haunt them, and feelings start to build, they come to realize that sometimes both plans and people can change.Bookmarked by fieldnotes

Summary
Asirpa had never asked for any of this. That's what had been bothering her since they'd left Karafuto, she realises. She is just a pawn – a means to find the gold, to unite her people, to confirm someone's world-view, to absolve another's guilt.

Summary
"My saliva is extremely toxic. Even a little will do serious harm at best… kill, at worst,"
And Kaiman sees him for the first time; truly sees him. Dokuga, always with his bag full of everything he could ever need. Dokuga, using his own chopsticks at the Hungry Bug. Dokuga, who always turns away when everyone laughs together. Dokuga, the man wearing the mask now.
"So that's why you're such a stick in the mud," it comes out without much thought and Dokuga prickles like a startled cat.
He watches him with guarded eyes but it melts after a hot moment and he lets out a small huff that Kaiman swears is a laugh, "I guess so, huh?"
