Summary
The anniversary of Phoenix’s disbarment, April 19th, was never an easy day; his only saving grace was that it was immediately followed by what had come to be one of his favorite "holidays". To his delight, he had finally talked someone else into participating— everyone else, in actuality.

Summary
Phoenix and Maya finally clean out Mia's office. Far, far too many people help.
"Jesus, Nick, you ever heard of throwing stuff out?" Maya laughs as she throws open the window, clapping her hands over the sill to shake off the dust. She's careful about where she puts her feet, Phoenix notes, despite the casual tone. It makes for a slightly awkward stance, how she steps to avoid every square of carpet Mia's body once touched. "I'd’ve thought you got rid of all this shit years ago!"

Summary
...close to you
~~~
"Wright, I've a favour to ask of you. Franziska and I have been invited to a wedding, the specifics matter not as of present. My sister, whom I love very much even though she’s landed me in this position, has mentioned to them multiple times how often I speak of you. And, of course, this means they expect me to show up with you as my plus one. As my partner. As in, the partner I am dating, and there is no talking them out of it. Ergo, here I am asking you to act as my plus one, and also my– ah, boyfriend, for a few evenings."
