Jason comes to an important realization after a long night of patrol where he and Stephanie send a young runaway home.
“How old are you?”
“Nineteen.” Even the thick eyeliner running down her face didn’t successfully obscure her youth. Jason knew nineteen was too old. He would’ve bought seventeen.
“Don’t ask me for help and fucking lie to me,” Jason sighed. It came out harsher than he wanted, but it wasn’t unkind, just tired. Tired of kids in places they shouldn’t be, tired of childhoods cut short, tired of all of it and how it never, never fucking ended. She bit her lip, looking away from him.
“Fifteen,” She said, voice breaking softly, more to the dumpster than to him. Jason pressed his eyes closed under the mask, swearing under his breath.Series

There's a flash of gold and green. For one moment, he finds himself standing amongst the Guardians and others. And then darkness again. It feels like blinking; an extended period of nothingness that ends as abruptly as it begins. One moment there’s nothing, the next there’s light.
