Summary
The Spider Queen has been defeated, but not killed, and her lackeys scuttle about under the direction of a mysterious Lady Bone Demon.
When the Monkey King unexpectedly leaves, the Young Sage and Young Successor are left behind with one problem neither of them knows how to solve: Dajing is dying, and they don't know how to cure it (yet, MK is very insistent on the yet part of that statement).
MK decides that, while they search for a cure, they at least enjoy some of the time they have alone. He wants Dajing to relax, experience the modern world, and maybe even learn how to live a little. Dajing, however, was never particularly good at any of that.
After all, how long can someone live freely with a noose around their neck?
TLDR: Read "In the Shadow of Legends: Season 1" before reading this. Seriously, none of this makes sense unless you read the previous installment.

The Lady Bone Demon was losing. That much was clear. Macaque didn't know why he followed the kid. Worry, no, he'd refuse to call it that.
Well, until the Lady Bone Demon made one last-ditch effort to win. By sending a spike of ice towards Sun Wukongs successor. Too fast for Macaque to teleport him away, or for Wukong, or even Nezha to move the kid out of the way in time.
Macaque's body moved before he could stop himself, and he de-transformed from the bird he'd been watching the fight as, and, like he did best, got in the way.

Or, Macaque takes a fatal hit for Mk and dies, promising himself that he'd do better if the world gave him a chance. It does, and he finds himself in a world where he never existed, parallel to his own, now protecting this new world's Mk. And unfortunately, Wukong as well, who just won't stop staring at him.
Can this Wukong stop being so creepy?

What!
Ok so. Brief explanation. This is Macaque-centered. I also have no idea what I'm doing with the timeline stuff (Ex. How old Mac & Wukong are, how long ago was JTTW from LMK, how long Mac was not alive, and at what time in history Wukong left for the Journey). I am not finished with reading JTTW, so most (kind of all) of this writing will be focused on Lego Monkie Kid's current plot regarding the history of Sun Wukong & Macaque. I know that some of the information regarding the timelines will be wrong, but please bear with me I'm just a girl.
