Summary
At one time Emet-Selch wanted to know, almost desperately, whether Azem was still alive. Now, it can only complicate his efforts.
It's too late. It has to be. Somewhere in the great wellspring of souls in Zodiark’s breast, the next Azem is waiting for Hades. Hythlodaeus is waiting.

Summary
The hero’s body, exhumed from soil and stone and bitter memory, is as plain as any other. His brow is furrowed in death, which you find a little charming in a piteous way. He must have raged until the very end, howling like a wild animal until the darkness came. Many such cases; some things never change.
[Elidibus exhumes Ardbert's body and hallucinates an old friend.]
