Aventurine is still lounging in his bed half-dressed when Veritas returns, fuming.
“What did he do?” he demands, trying with difficulty to keep his emotions from filling his voice with unnecessary implications. “Did he touch you?”
Aventurine shrugs. “I don’t know, did he?" He is clad only in a pair of unbuttoned trousers, the hem of his underwear showing through the open flap. His breath shows in the chill of the early autumn evening that rolls in through the open window. "Maybe you should come over here and make sure my innocence is still intact, Professor.”
Every time his wayward student attempts to back him into a corner, Veritas manages to stay strong.
Until the time he doesn't.
