Summary
“Our students have been nagging me all morning,” Beomgyu huffed, marching over to Taehyun’s desk. “They keep asking me what I have planned for my husband’s big day. Why didn’t you tell me today was your birthday??”
Taehyun rolled his eyes in faux disappointment. “Wow, my beloved husband doesn’t even know when my birthday is? I think I need to file for divorce.”
Beomgyu let out a dramatic gasp. “That’s not fair! Look, I even got something for you.” He pulled out a banana nut muffin from behind his back, topped with a lopsided dollop of whipped cream that Taehyun’s positive he saw a bottle of in the communal fridge by the teacher’s lounge. A half-melted candle sat in the middle, flame burning a bright orange. It was a mess of a makeshift birthday cake, but it was perfect in Taehyun’s eyes.
“This was supposed to be my breakfast, but I really can't handle a divorce right now. So, happy birthday, jagiya.”
(OR: Taehyun and Beomgyu’s students come up with a ridiculous theory that their two favorite teachers are secretly married. It starts off as a running joke between the two, but somewhere along the line, the boundary between pretend and reality starts to blur.)

Beomgyu snorted, laying his chin on Soobin’s shoulder as he looked up at him. “That’s not what you said when I beat you in League.”
“You did NOT beat m- you know what, that’s not important right now,” Soobin huffed before letting out a nervous breath. “What I’m trying to say is… I think I’m also catching feelings for Taehyun.”
Soobin was waiting for something, anything, from his boyfriend. He was bracing himself for Beomgyu to storm out of the room, or tell him how he just fucked up their entire relationship.
What he didn’t expect was a soft smile to make its way across Beomgyu’s face, as he whispered, “Me too.”

Yeonjun raised an eyebrow. “I mean, like, I know it exists, but it’s not the same thing as a public news article about a dating rumor. With fanfiction, people can just make us into whatever characters they want.”
“Fair enough, I guess fanfiction isn’t entirely based on real events. They always make me top Beomgyu hyung.”
OR

After all, it was a marriage on paper. A business deal, nothing more. Three years, just long enough to appease his parents and then move on with the rest of their lives. That’s all this was supposed to be.

He knows that he loves them, and would like to think that he’s good at expressing it.
