Summary
Shane fucks up his career, blocks his situationship, begins an ill-advised slut era, gets outed, traded, and forced to rebuild his life. It's kind of a worst case scenario.
Or: The consequences of Shane Hollander's slump.

Summary
One year. One year to remake himself into the boyfriend Shane needs him to be. For one more year, he will be Boston’s Ilya Rozanov.
Ungrateful boy, loyal to nothing, his father always said, and maybe it was true. Next year he will sell himself to another country again. But he never knew until now how sweet it could taste to give himself away for nothing at all.
The twelve months between Boston and Ottawa.

Summary
It's embarrassing enough that Shane wanders off his hiking trail and goes missing for two days, but thanks to Hayden's big mouth, everyone knows he was recently dumped, and they have a lot of wrong opinions about why Shane disappeared.

Summary
There is something from an Ottawa Centaurs email, titled 'conversation.'
For a moment, he strongly considers deleting it. Shane no longer owes a single part of the MLH a damn thing, nor does he expect anything from it. His exit from the league is -- well. People aren't motivated to bring it up.
The sender is listed as Wiebe, B.
Shane clicks on the message.
Ten years ago Shane lost everything but Ilya. He has to decide what, if anything, he wants back.

Summary
“-can’t see each other again,” Ilya says, looking only at Shane’s hand, holding it so, so gently and stroking over Shane’s skin so, so softly. The soothing feeling of it makes it very hard to focus, but Shane tries very hard to do it anyway. “I tried-we tried, but this can’t happen again.” It takes a moment, but Shane finally manages to make sense of the words, and he lets out a soft noise of understanding.
Ah. He’s apologizing that he won’t be able to see Shane in the hospital again before he leaves.
“I understand,” he says, and he does. It was probably really hard for Ilya to get here even once, and it can’t be very long before his plane leaves. He’s sad, of course–they didn’t even get to spend time together, really–but it’s not like this will be the last chance they ever have to see each other. He gives Ilya his best attempt at a smile, and if it comes out a little sad, too, all Ilya does is reach out to stroke the backs of his fingers gently over his cheek.
(ilya goes through with his plan to break up with shane in the hospital) (the problem? shane is too high to understand that he's being broken up with)
