Summary
The Long Game focuses heavily on Ilya’s mental health, but Shane’s own struggles are able to fly under the radar. Perhaps this is because Shane himself does not realize the full extent of his suffering, or is quick to dismiss it because his experiences are different from Ilya’s. What happens when this mindset catches up to Shane and he realizes that he can’t get away with hiding his problems from himself and his loved ones?
