Summary
This fic is a retelling of The Lindworm Prince, where Voldemort/Tom Riddle is imagined as the lindwyrm and Draco as his twin brother.
After struggling with infertility for years, Queen Narcissa stumbles upon a wise crone in the middle of the forest who gives her a remedy that will help bring about her heart's desire: a child. She is told to eat the red peony if she wishes for a son, the white for a daughter, but no matter what, she must only eat one. In her excitement, she forgets and eats both.
When it is time to give birth, the queen first delivers a lindwyrm, a terrifying monster that slips away. She then delivers a prince, as perfect and beautiful as she dreamed.
Years later, when it is time for Prince Draco to marry, he is stopped en route to his bride. The lindwyrm reveals himself to be Draco's brother, the elder one at that, and as per the custom of the land, demands to wed first.
Furious, Draco returns home, divulging the story to his parents, who quickly move to arrange for a bride from a foreign land. What happens when the lindwyrm, raised in the relative isolation of the forest, tries to mate for the first time?
