Summary
After having calmed down and made both myself and Sherlock some tea, we sit together in silence for a while, just enjoying each other’s presence.
“I should go talk to Molly tomorrow, to explain the situation.” Sherlock says.
“Right? That would be the right thing to do?”
Sherlock usually came to me with things like these; social scenarios, especially emotional ones, are not at all Sherlock’s forte. I don’t mind though, in fact I like when he comes to me about these things. It means he’s trying, and it means he trusts me.

Summary
As a child, Sherlock had loved fairytales. The ones with adventures and dragons and happy endings. He'd loved that the villains always received ample punishment and the heroes lived eternally. Mycroft had them all memorised, so often had he read them to his little brother.
This is not a fairytale, though, because there are no villains and no heroes. There is only the story of a mathematician and a lawyer, of a politician, a detective and a doctor, of two little pirates and a brother and the east wind that did not quite take them all, in the end.

The one in which Mycroft has to find a life beyond mere functionality.
[This is a post-season 4 fic and it is family story, but it is also a romance and a character study.]

"So, there John was left standing. If he knew where Sherlock was going, he would have gone after him. But maybe this was a hint that Sherlock was waiting for John to take. No matter how many people in the past told them that they were a great team, or even Mary’s video, he and Sherlock fell apart. Or got pulled apart. The correct answer seemed to be one got pushed away, though."

When Sherlock starts pushing John away after the death of Mary, John is ready to get to the bottom of the issue. Even if the conversation has to happen with Sherlock almost bleeding out in the kitchen.
