Even now, she may have lingered here too long. She has to leave when the streets are quiet and the darkness is easy to hide in. She shouldn’t risk being seen leaving Vi’s apartment in the morning, not risk the gossip of her being with an employee, contract or otherwise in such incriminating circumstances. And especially not Vi. She cannot be known to be fraternizing with the Undercity woman she’s already facing multiple scandals for bringing, and defiantly keeping, on her workforce. Vi is the only person she can fully trust, and Caitlyn needs to keep her.
Even if that means Caitlyn can’t truly have her.
Vi makes Caitlyn an offer she has to refuse.
