Summary
In the gnawing cold of Imperial Japan’s winter in 1943, there, stood a young woman from formerly colonized Joseon before an enigmatic lady. Lost, starved, and freezing in the midst of her journey seeking for her brother, the young woman found herself into a predicament where she must make an irreversible decision. Would the lady, by offering her hand, be a guiding candle in the midst of war, or just another blade meant to carve another layer of abhorrence and prejudice in the young woman’s heart?
This is a fic originally from my Tumblr account written for the following hero x villain prompt:
“Don’t move,” her voice was so gentle despite everything. Even if Hero wanted to disobey, they couldn’t. All they could do was shiver in the cold wind. Why? What’s happening to them? They wanted – no needed - to run away but it felt like their lungs would collapse the second they would move. “You’ll be alright,” Villain whispered in their ear.
