Summary
Soap is one of what people called 'the lucky ones'.
From the moment he was born, he has a mark on his arm, the name of his soulmate.
Simon Riley. The mysterious man that everyone told him he existed for, no matter how much he resited. No matter how much he hated it, at least when he could force himself to even feel anything towards the man. And so, in some twisted way, Soap is glad when his mark turns into a silver scar, a sign his soulmate is dead. He's finally free.
He's not expecting a mysterious Lieutenant Ghost, the only person in the world to ignite the passion meant for soulmates. He's not expecting to fall in love with him, despite everything, finally finding someone just for Soap. Chosen by him.
So when the revelation finally drops, he's furious beyond belief. Only the reality is far from what Soap expects, darkness isn't just something he hides in, and the world isn't quite what he knows. Because the eldritch are beyond comprehension, beyond belief, yet exactly what Soap doesn't know he needs.

Right before Christmas, on an op that goes bad thanks to terrible weather predictions, Ghost finds himself hoping that his sergeant is okay, lost somewhere in the snow and injured with Farah, and the man they were sent to find.Alex is a little too calm, despite knowing that his commander, and the woman he loves, is in danger, and Simon begins to wonder if he's just too far gone for Soap in his worrying, or if Alex is better at hiding his panic than previously thought.

“Hey…” Ghost said in the softest voice Soap had ever heard come out of his mouth and if it was directed at him and not the kitten, he would have definitely had a heart attack.The kitten stood up, its little tail high up in the air in curiosity as it started rubbing its head against Ghost’s fingers; it was the cutest thing ever truly but somehow the way a few happy wrinkles appeared around Ghost’s eyes, the blond eyelashes fluttering before Ghost turned to glance at Soap, was even cuter.
