Everyone at Seoul Jungang knew that face.
It was on the wall outside the principal's office half the time, some certificate or another, top of class, model student, everyone's favorite. He'd seen it in the hallway trailing a wake of admirers like a comet. He'd rolled his eyes at it more than once, decided a long time ago that it belonged to exactly the kind of person he had no interest in: shiny, easy, trying so hard to be good at everything that he'd never once in his life had to actually feel anything.
That face was currently frozen behind a bar in a nightclub, apron half-tied, staring at Dongmin like he'd just watched his own coffin get delivered.
A slow, delighted grin spread across Dongmin's face.
"Wow," he said, leaning an elbow on the bar like he had all the time in the world. "Kim Donghyun, right?" He tilted his head, watching the panic flicker—just once, just barely—behind that perfectly composed face before it smoothed back over. "Who would've thought?" His grin widened into something sharper. "Maybe you're not such a try-hard after all."
