the power/dependence/chemistry between sam and ruby is fascinating. i like how facing him in a body to match his pushes all those buttons, and then some.
this line told me everything i needed to know about sam's headspace, whether he was going to agree or not, how much he needs/trusts/wants ruby: “Y-You smell like you,” Sam stammered guiltily. “You taste like you.”
His lips pressed against her forehead - not a kiss. awesome.

Sam usually wakes up from nightmares in one of three attitudes: confusion, fear, or calm. A scary, sense-prickling calm that Dean hates more than anything else. Resignation, almost.
Or: Sam suffers from nightmares and touch starvation post-Cage. They do their best to deal.

Dean fucks up a lot; he knows he does. Drinks too much, shouts even more, and doesn’t know how to grieve without some unholy combination of the two. Uses his fists before his words, his rage before his reason. Sees a little more of his dad in the mirror every day and doesn’t like the look of it.
This isn’t a new problem, but it causes new complications.
