    Summary

    paper tiger
    noun
one that is outwardly powerful or dangerous but inwardly weak or ineffectual

    ---

There was blood on the floor. He stared at it blankly, eyes unable to focus through the static. A monotone buzzing hummed in his head, chasing away any thoughts that tried to break to the surface. Slowly, he gained more control over his limbs again, and he found that he was capable of raising his hands too.

There was blood on his hands. That's weird, Mondo thought. He actually chuckled a little bit, and the sound that came from his own mouth startled him. He had forgotten that he could make sounds, that he could even do anything at all. That this was his place in the world, his reality, and he was a part of it. And he had an effect on it. How terrifying... He laughed again, and his eyes wandered further.

There was blood on Chihiro Fujisaki.

Reality crashed back into him like a truck.

"Oh Izuku, come say hi to the nice man!" his mother moved to the side, exposing the hiding child who quickly focused on Yagi.

"Why are you so tall?" He shouted bluntly, he gave Yagi another intense glare before adding "And so weird looking?", slightly catching Yagi off guard, his mother looked less than pleased.
Before she could interject Yagi answered, "Well it depends-" he leaned over the table, lowering himself slightly to the child’s height, "Can you keep a secret", Izuku’s eyes widened in excitement before furiously shaking his head up and down.

Letting out another chuckle, Yagi cupped his hand as if to block his words from his mother, who still seemed mortified at her child’s comment, "I'm secretly a dragon" He whispered, the boy's eyes lit up even more as he let out a nearly inhuman screech.

“Tell me,” Ling began, voice deadly serious. His gaze was piercing, as though looking into Edward’s very soul. “How many people do you have inside of you?”

    --------

Edward was born earlier, to a much younger Hohenheim. Even with a much different start to life, one thing still holds true: he loves Alphonse more than anything, even if his beloved brother does stupid things like run off and join the military at age 11.
