If you're also asking yourself these questions, this story is for you! It follows the entire game's story with these changes in mind, while otherwise adhering pretty strictly to canon. Beware, though: it will be long, as I'm a rambly writer, there will be plenty of pre-story additions, and then we will go through the canon story. Hope you enjoy! After losing more resources and his men in Laslea, with a new unknown Vrakhir rising in Brencis’ crew, Sara had the splendid idea to just drink their sorrows away. Forget their pain and failures for just a day. Marat agreed, only so his remaining men could unwind, before starting anew.

Summary
Coen and Marat were both driven, goal-oriented men. Respectable men, with reputations to uphold. So neither anticipated the other could possibly reciprocate forbidden, illegal, feelings.
Coen certainly didn't anticipate checking in on Marat after nightfall would lead to...this.

Summary
Coen never meant to become a rebel. He only agreed to carry a dangerous message for someone who needed help.
It was enough to put him in chains.
Dragged into the custody of the Vrakhiri and accused of hiding information from their new rulers, Coen expects interrogation, imprisonment, and perhaps death. Instead, he attracts the attention of Ambrus - a centuries-old Vrakhiri Boyar tasked with discovering exactly what Coen knows.
Instead, Ambrus becomes increasingly interested in Coen himself.
Caught between a dangerous investigation and a vampire whose attention grows more possessive by the day, Coen begins to discover that the monster holding him may be far more complicated than he expected. And that some desires are much harder to resist once they've been awakened.
