Summary
Kara is fired from Catco and is at a loss of what to do. She asks Clark if she can head out to the Kent farm for a little while to have some time out on her own. Clark of course says yes, but warns her that no one lives there so it might need a bit of work to get it back into shape.
Kara arrives to the farm and it turns out Clark was right It’s not in great condition, but Kara is more than happy to fix it. She’s looking forward to some peace and quiet, but that all changes in a few days when a car rolls up and out steps Lena Luthor. Her solace comes to an abrupt end, but Kara doesn’t mind the company at all, until Lena sees something she definitely shouldn’t have.Bookmarked by hallow777

It’s small, which explains why she’d been instructed to only pack essentials. She takes a step toward Kara whose hand is outstretched in hope as her eyes flash with something Lena can name as desperation.
“Do you trust me?” she looks so incredibly nervous and Lena can practically hear Kara’s heart pounding.
“With everything that I am.” the answer comes automatically, free of the burden of hesitation, as she closes the distance between them and takes Kara’s hand in her own.

Summary
Letting out a quiet exclamation that was a cross between alarm and surprise, Kara hastily began to scoop at the shallow grave, hoping she wasn’t too late to save the person. She used some of her magic to assist her, pushing chunks of dirt out of the way with casual gestures of her hands, until she felt the coarse fabric of a coat beneath her fingertips. Pulling with all of her strength, Kara came up with a limp body, breathing heavily as she cradled the person’s upper body in her arms. Her hands were caked in dirt and she was covered in a slight sheen of sweat from the exertion of digging, but she didn’t pause as she reached out to pull down the black hood drawn up over the person’s head. As she did so, dark hair spilled out from beneath it, and Kara found herself looking down at pale skin, almost ghostly in the moonlight, closed eyes and dark eyebrows. The lower half of the woman’s face - it was a woman, she realised - was covered with a black scarf, drawn up over her nose and mouth. Slowly reaching out, Kara pulled the scarf down, exposing perfectly shaped bowstring lips that were parted slightly, and leant down to hear for breathing. It was shallow, but barely there, and Kara panicked.

Summary
Kara is spiralling down a dark path. Everyone wants her to be good and super and light all the time. Everyone except Lena who only wants to help her. Kara thinks being human or trying to be was a mistake. She thinks letting herself become vulnerable and trying to create a life separate for herself, separate from supergirl was a mistake. She drinks more often now. She's cruel without meaning to be. And she doesn't know how to go on. She doesn't even know if she wants to keep being supergirl. Especially if it means giving up everything and everyone.
Lena just wants her friend to heal and be happy. She doesn't want her to suffer alone like she did for so many years. She won't let Kara be alone.
Or
Kara needs to feel distracted in anyway necessary and Lena is willing to help fuel her self-destructive ways. If only for a little while.

It was replaced by a gravitas, an intensity, and an acuteness - especially in the way her eyes darted to Lena’s hands, as if she knew what Lena was up to. “You’re her,” Lena chuckles, genuinely enjoying herself. She’s always liked a challenge and this one felt like the biggest she would ever have. “You’re the Girl of Steel.”
“Commodore Kara Zor-El,” she rectifies with a flitting grimace at hearing the title Lena gave her. “Lena Luthor, you are under arrest-”
“Captain Lena Luthor,” Lena interrupts with an insolent smile at the annoyed look the Commodore gives her.
