Every day, every night, an unknown force was pulling him away, causing him to amble this way and that, searching for… something.
The closer he got to the source, the tighter the coils around his heart seemed to pull, which only encouraged him to run faster, to reach the end of this path, to locate the source of this strange magic that pulled him – pulled at him – like a fish caught on a line.
His paws left muddy tracks in the ground as he ran faster than he’d ever dared in his body. His lungs burned, adrenaline made his blood feel absolutely alive beneath his skin.
He didn’t notice the gigantic, swinging branches of the Whomping Willow.
