Henry could really use another “Get The Fuck Off The Continent” summer, but there’s no chance of penciling that in anytime soon.
Alex is unbelievable, and he finds a week. They get the fuck out of the state instead.
He’s pulled back down to earth when Alex’s hand goes down the front of his boxers, that shiver-inducing baritone in his ear, “Ground Control to Major Fox.”
Gravity doesn’t apply to the way his back arches.
Alex maintains that hold on his hair, arm cradling his neck as he kisses his way up to Henry’s yielding mouth. He opens up to him, willing and loose as their lips meet. Then their tongues do too. Alex smiles on a warm exhale.
“Where’d you go, baby?”
Henry breathes him in.
“The ether.”
“Of course,” Alex says, deadpan as he thumbs at Henry’s waistline. “Welcome back.”

Henry stares at the clock, willing it to move faster. He squints his eyes, as if he has super powers, and thinks, you will move faster. But the second hand ticks once to the left, and the hour and minute hands barely move if at all. He shifts his chin, glares at it. Nothing. Sighing, he flops back on his pillow and stares up at the ceiling.
This was the absolute dumbest idea. Nevermind that it had been his. That little detail was not of import.
The ceiling is ornate, as one would expect from the illustrious hotel they’re staying in. Bloody grand, is what it is. Too much, he’d said, we don’t need all that . But Percy and Bea had dismissed him, and now he’s here. Staring at the ornate ceiling, unable to sleep, despite desperately wishing he could just sleep the next twelve hours away so that he could be standing in front of Alex again.
He rolls over on his side, stares at the bathroom door; also needlessly fancy. He’s spent his life living in palaces, and even he’s looking at this place thinking, that’s a bit much, yeah?
