Summary
We created this document with two ideas in mind: AI is undoubtedly now embedded in most parts of everyday life (“here to stay”) and, in light of that, undisclosed AI usage holds no space in fandom. We believe readers deserve to make informed choices about the type of art they would like to engage with. In an ideal fandom space, AI usage to assist or generate fanworks would be disclosed up front.
However, undeniable proof of AI (Claude-generated) content is attached to the HTML of some works and can be found hidden in a number of well-known fanfics on Archive of Our Own, inside and outside the Heated Rivalry community.

Deadpool's been acting strange, and Peter noticed. It’s like he... enjoyed being bossed around? By Peter. Or, by Spiderman. He reacted really weird to Spiderman’s instructions. He made jokes that Peter wasn’t sure were jokes. He pushed Spiderman, intentionally annoyed him and initiated shoving fights until Peter snapped and slammed Deadpool into the wall. And then he’d go limp, like putty in Spiderman’s grip.
Peter didn’t quite know what to make of it. So, like the scientist he was, he decided to run an experiment.
The IRB would not approve.
