It was only their second time fighting after Ray and Schwoz left that things started going wrong.
They got lucky the first time, their first day alone. That had just been some kid, causing problems more for the attention of Swellview's heroes than anything else. The four of them had that situation sorted out within half an hour.
But the second time?
Well. It wasn't like it was anything they couldn't handle.post-finale. ray & schwoz are gone, and danger force is handling it So Very Well. they're Definitely Absolutely Fine. why. what have you heard. they're Totally Fine-
or: those four kids are Not Okay post-finale; their second mission without ray is the catalyst for everyone starting to crumble.

Summary
Mika shifted slightly, a nervous restlessness tugging at her in response to Chapa's words.
"It's fine." She murmured, trying to keep her voice reassuring. "And- it wasn't that bad, really. I mean, it's not like I remember the possession, either, so…" She trailed off as she noticed the unimpressed look Chapa was giving her. "What?"
"Do you think you've somehow become any more of a convincing liar since the last time you said that?"
Mika blinked, processing the words for a moment. Then- "Oh."mika's never been great at lying. chapa's never been great at apologies. but mika's bedroom window is always unlocked, and chapa is determined to make sure her friend is okay.
...even if she's starting to suspect that, somewhere along the way- mika's definition of "okay" might have started skewing just slightly to the left of her own.(or: fluff and comfort in the aftermath of the twitler arc.)

He swallowed, forcing himself to smile- hoping desperately that the charm would somehow hide the strain. "Ask away."

She was still hovering awkwardly in front of the couch, she realized. So she moved to sit on the other side, leaning slightly against the couch cushion as she glanced carefully at Bose. "Like- the same as it actually happened, or did the dream change stuff?"
Bose paused again before answering. "I- don't know. Woke up before we could get Mika back." He furrowed his eyebrows, clearly trying to remember the dream. "…I think I was trying to stop her this time. So. That changed."
"Oh." And then the question escaped before she could stop it. "Was I doing anything? In the dream?"
He glanced at her, then away again. "Just- holding back Miles, I guess."

Platonic Soulmate AU With Telepathy.
- Soulmate AU where you and your soulmates are telepathically linked once you meet. You can turn this on and off once you learn how.
- Soulmates are platonic in this universe. As in, your soulmate could be a romantic partner, but that's not related to the soulmate thing at all, and just as many soulmates are friends or family or what-have-you.
- Main four kids get to be telepathically linked soulmates, yippee.
- The connection with a soulmate is only completely severed when that soulmate dies. (Getting transported into another universe would also sever the connection, but obviously no one is aware of this.)- Words:
