The smirk on Rozanov’s face makes him want to crawl out of his skin: “Oh, wait, before you leave—one last thing.”
Shane is already facing the doors, ready to leave, but he turns around one last time.
“What?”
The man looks amused: “Do you want to grab a drink after work?”
“Oh, fuck off.”
“Then back to my place, maybe?”
Shane slams the office doors behind him as he exits. The entire floor stares at him as he angrily walks towards the elevators.

“What? Hollander too scared to face me?” Ilya chirps, because if he goes another minute without at least mentioning the man that has been consuming his every thought for two weeks he might go insane. He needs someone else to acknowledge his existence, his absence, to fucking tell him what’s going on so he can finally get it off his mind. It’s just a stupid mystery. That’s why it bugs him.
And then Hayden Pike looks up. Dark bruised circles under his eyes, face pale like a sheet, eyes red rimmed and puffy like he has been crying all day. The face of a man mourning.
Ilya feels like the ice might crack under him. Something’s wrong with Shane.

Rookie Shane Hollander starts his hockey career with the Boston Raiders and catches the eye of the team captain, Ilya Rozonov.
“Hmm…” Ilya hums, eyes dropping to Shane’s lips again. “I think you’d like that.”
“Like what?”
Those ice blue eyes jump back up to Shane’s, as Ilya lowers his hand slightly, lifting Shane’s chin just a little as his fingers wrap gently around his throat. Not squeezing, just holding.
Shane’s eyes go wide, but he doesn’t move. He reaches out a hand to Ilya’s chest to push him away, but then finds his fingers curling into Ilya’s shirt instead.
Ilya grins. “You like that, Hollander?” His voice is deep, dangerous.
