Summary
It's not jealousy. Adrian is adamant about that. They are actually insisting that it’s not any emotion at all. Not even dislike. They are simply completely uninterested in anything that concerns “the human”.
Rocky believes them. Adrian has always been the level-headed one out of the two of them. They are too logical to be jealous. They acknowledge that Grace and Rocky have a special bond after everything they went through together and also understand that none of that will ever pose a threat to their relationship.
Neither are they heartless or ungrateful. They know that Grace is the only reason that Rocky is back at all, the only reason their star has stopped dying. Adrian has told Rocky again and again that they are grateful and happy and wish the alien no ill will. They even helped with the construction of the biodome.
And yet they have no desire to get to know Grace.

You know those videos where the dad is like "You may keep the cat but I will have nothing to do with it" and a few days later they are smothering the kitty with cuddles and love?

Grace chooses to grab the controls and detection protocol from the Hail Mary to keep in his tiny home on Erid, which was a pretty much useless decision according to Rocky, until… it wasn’t.
A beetle is sent from Earth to Erid containing countless tokens of Grace’s past. Feelings ensue.

Summary
Grace is unprepared for the level of love that all of Erid seemed to have for him. It was vaguely terrifying, but also.... nice? To be cared for. To be wanted.
It gets worse when they find out the circumstances of him ending up on the Hail Mary.
When his declining health necessitates a trip back to Earth, he is faced with a planet that loves him so fiercely and wonderfully that it finally starts to break through his crippling lack of self worth and bloom into something incredible.
And Earth? Earth has to deal with an Erid that is polite, protective, and most of all, pissed.

Summary
Grace struggles on the trip back to Erid. Some help from his best friend helps to put him back on track.

“Rocky, what on Earth are you doing in—” I stop in my tracks. Or, more accurately, I trip, stumble, and then stop in my tracks. Letting out a stream of half-curses, I turn around to glare at the thing that's definitely bruised the front of my calf.
That's when I see Rocky.
He's… in a suit. Not his ball, but — oh my God — an actual clear, xenonite suit!
It's comprised of a lot of small, triangular xenonite panels held together by some kind of… glue? It’s clearly different to what he used for his ball, since it’s completely flexible and way more form-fitting. I can't even begin to imagine how long it took for Rocky to assemble all of those little panels. They're more like shards, actually, reflecting the light of the ship in little spots all over the room, similar to a disco ball.
The sight is enough to bring tears to my eyes. I doubt it was intentional, but it's really beautiful.
