    Summary

    "Why'd you kiss me?"

March should've known she never had a chance. She still doesn't, especially now as Stelle’s other hand tilts her chin up to force an answer from her lips.

Maybe she doesn't have to hear it from Stelle herself. Maybe this is enough—the desire in Stelle’s eyes, the possessiveness in her grip—she's already said everything March needed to hear.

"Because I wanted to," she rasps.

    OR

Stelle, an exile of Khrysal having lived half of her life in the overthrown kingdom of Astra, must return to Khrysal as a fake knight in order to win enough gold in a tournament to get out of Astra for good. What she doesn't know is the second prize: the hand of Khrysal's princess in marriage. March, the princess of Khrysal who is notorious for warding off every suitor sent her way, is looking for any knight dumb enough to be manipulated into not marrying her. Fortunately, her childhood friend that had been exiled decided to join the tournament and make her search a little easier - until she realizes she might actually want to marry this one.

Phainon’s blade inches closer to her. His body burns, insides melding together and eating themselves for survival, and his skin, tearing, ripping apart. “We aren’t even people, Castorice. There is no true death for us, and there is no true life for us.”

“Then what were we? What was everything? What was the laughter I shared with you, and the words we exchanged?” Castorice takes in a shuddering breath, butterflies drenching their feelers in her blood, dying flowers blooming from her wounds. “...Tell me, in any of those recurrences, did I ever manage to become normal?”

( this land is nothing more than a furious creature’s sandbox.

you, and all of them, can only spill blood

and burn in hatred and die, again and again and again and– )

“I’m sorry, Castorice.” he pierces her chest to the excited fluttering of butterfly wings. “Something like that is impossible for all of us.”

    Summary

“It’s next week.” The owner taps her perfectly manicured finger—must not be a chef then—against the paper, accidentally brushing against his own hand. He not so discreetly pulls away so he can wipe his fingers on what’s left of his shirt. She looks offended. “And it’s a couple’s discount. Though I doubt you have a girlfriend.”

Caelus scoffs. “I have a girlfriend.”

    OR

Caelus needs a fake partner in order to qualify for the couple’s discount at Garden of Gourmet, so he asks everyone he can think of. Everyone except Dan Heng.

“You know you’re not a bad looking guy,” the boss comments from underneath him.

Caelus sighs. “Yeah, but unfortunately you are.”

The boss spits in his face.

Kinky, but Caelus isn’t into that. Yet.

wtf is the end note lol

    Summary

He’s still watching the other when he quickly pulls out a floral umbrella, seemingly out of nowhere, opens it to its full size, twirling it above the two of them as he suddenly presses into Satoru. Satoru lets out a surprised squawk, but it’s quickly muffled by a hand against his mouth.

“Don’t freak out,” the mystery man murmurs, and Satoru is once again swept with a wave of something that feels vaguely like nostalgia at the sound of his voice.

“Don’t freak out?” he hisses back when the hand over his mouth is finally removed. “Who even are you?” His eyes dart to the umbrella above them. “What’s that for?”

“The umbrella’s to hide us from the security camera,” the other explains, and Satoru vaguely remembers seeing a camera in the corner of the elevator that is now utterly blocked by the umbrella. “As for who I am…” His eyes glance away. “That’s not important right now.”

    ---

or, Megumi brings home his boyfriend and Satoru is less than impressed. he's not exactly prepared for the race through multiple timelines and universes that follows.

alternatively, Satoru and Suguru, everything everywhere all at once style

Yu inhales and lets the flame touch the paper.
    ____

    Bookmarker's Notes

encapsulated their characters so perfectly, and it hurt so bad to watch the development of the investigation team without yu... also gives a good reason behind the accomplice ending because why the hell would yu do that... i'm not a sucker for angst but this fic does it so well
