Summary
And – there. He’d not even been conscious of it, and he’d hardly call it lap-ruining, Max’s over-correction to the subtle movement a total overreaction, but. He switches to his onboard and it’s as if the steering wheel jumps in his steady grip, fights him like there’s a magnet on Max’s car as he passes before he realigns.
Weird.

Summary
They’re watching an old movie. Sebastian seems so fond of old movies. He’s curled against his stomach and Mark can feel the feverish heat of his calories-vanishing body coming off from his tattered t-shirt, his mouth chomping and chewing at the buttery popcorn rapidly disappearing from the bowl. Suddenly, Mark is forced to pay attention to the glowing screen, where the scene of a homicide unfolds: a man, pressing a pillow over a young woman’s face, smothering her, her pale white hand twitching on the edge of the bed until it just stops moving altogether.
He realizes he’s been staring far too attentively at it only when he feels Sebastian’s gaze piercing through his skin, a smirk dancing across his red lips, all smeared in crumbs and salt.
“Did something catch your eye, liebling?”To rid the world of a monster, Mark decides to become one himself. Sadly, it takes a little too much courage to kill someone you've been with for so long, even if it's for the greater good...

Max finds out about the regulation changes at the same time as everyone else: a week before testing. New doping regulations – all long-term heat and rut suppressants are banned.
Which would be fine, if he hadn't been taking suppressants since he was seventeen.

Summary
“Wrong Mercedes,” he manages to croak, and George’s tail stops wagging. It smells more of dog than before. He doesn’t uncurl. Still over the blankets, at Max’s feet.
