I guess I’d been feeling kind of cooped up the past few cycles. ART and I had just returned from a cargo run: weeks with just the two of us, watching media and goofing around. Now I was on my way to some far off moon to look for frozen bacteria in ice samples or something and its hull was packed full of crew members and researchers and grad students all needing to be chauffeured around to different stations and planets.
'I have a better idea.' ART highlighted a path on my map of its interior and gave me a little nudge in the feed.

The small of my back came to rest against the edge of the platform. When I tilted my head all the way back and found the lens of ART’s camera, my mouth split into a smile that I hadn’t planned.
