“Oh Young-il…” The name fell from Gi-hun in Young-il’s voice. Chestnut hair slicked neatly back, harsher lines carved around his eyes, giving him a colder, more distant look than the warm, gentle Young-il he remembered.
The last bit of strength in his knees gave way as the truth sank in. He crumpled to the floor, one hand fumbling to keep hold of the drawer, legs sprawled beneath him.
The walls seemed to crush inward on his chest, each breath stabbing him like a thousand needles. The sound of ragged, broken gasps filled the room.
This couldn’t be real. It couldn’t be.
