"Mates? With who?" Jisung asks weakly.
Minho raises a wordless eyebrow in answer. Jisung continues gaping at him, so Minho adds, "With, you know, whoever."
"Not me," Jisung says instantly. Minho blinks, trying not to let it hit him like a slap in the face, but Jisung keeps going. "Oh my god. Hyung. I can't believe you're telling me this right now."
It's a weird time and place, sure. In the parking lot of Minho's cousin's wedding, after something like a quickie, Minho's slacks still on the floor of the car. Actually, isn't it weirder if Jisung doesn't feel the same?

When Jisung comes to again, he's lying face-first in Minho's bed, feverish and bleary. His neck throbs. There's a damp puddle of drool under his mouth. There's a damp puddle in his shorts. What the fuck? Oh fuck.
"Hannie, I brought you a covid test," Minho is calling, out in the main room. There's the sound of a door opening. Jisung's bedroom door. "How have you— Hannie?"
Jisung burrows into Minho's sheets like a miserable, come-stained mole. He wants to wither up and die here, ideally before Minho finds him. God, Minho's bed smells good.

“What do you say, Minho?” Jisung asks like he already knows the answer and is just eager to watch Minho’s mouth shape around the words. “Are you down for a little western adventure before heading to the big apple?”
Minho looks down at his crumpled map, then out the diner window, onto the road where heat is still rising in lazy waves off the asphalt. He’s already off course, already behind schedule anyway. Still, it’d be stupid. Careless. And probably the most fun he’d be having in forever. A story to tell. He glances back at Jisung, at the curve of his grin and the easy slouch of his shoulders.
He nods once, firmly. “Okay. Kansas,” Minho mutters, folding his map in half. “But I’m picking the music.”
