“And what will they do if we don’t? Can’t we just send him to another team?” She asked.
“If we refuse to put him on the team? I was told they were going to- They were going to get rid of him. Permanently,”

Summary
Sherriff Silas Morgan, or Shepherd as those of Eden know him, is called to the town of Diamondback at the beckoning of a Professor Azran through the Drylands Mycogram Company. Shepherd breezes into town to investigate the circumstances around a terrible affliction that plagues and claims the lives of many citizens of the sleepy town, and had begun to creep up to his camp in a few fresh faces seeking asylum from the rot and corruption that infested their doomed homeland.

The darkness no longer constricting her in its icy tendrils, but instead giving way to the silvery streaks of moonlight that seemed to almost caress the dark elf's face. The tightness in Lethica's muscles released all at once, her shaky knees unable to maintain her steady as she fell into a heap of ragged breath.
