!!not a story!! this is a thesis about captain america fanfiction, not a work of captain america fanfiction.
ABSTRACT:
In the last few decades, fanfiction has become an increasingly popular form of written media. Online fandom communities, which rally around shared interests and create content surrounding them, mediate characters, relationships, and plotlines through their creation and consumption of written fanwork. Young people especially engage with fanfiction in a creative and affective way in order to negotiate, analyze, and reimagine aspects of their shared media interest. One such media interest is that of Marvel superhero Captain America, who appears as a main character in both the Marvel Comics and the hugely popular Marvel Cinematic Universe film franchise. These two media sources, however, sometimes have very different representations of the character. In the case of the Captain America fandom, fanfiction acts as a locus of a reassimilation of these differing character representations. This thesis argues that Captain America fanfiction adds depth to a character wiped clean by movie makers and acts as a locus of reclamation, re-politicization, and identity exploration. -

“ Fuck,” he proclaims out loud.
A pigeon on the sidewalk across the street flutters away.
Another voice cuts through the cold. “You okay?”
Bucky looks up to see a silhouette on the fire escape two floors above him. Clearly, he had been swearing louder than he intended to.
The figure is clearly male, and built like a fucking brick house, but the light behind him makes any other features vague and indistinguishable.
“Uh, yeah,” Bucky says dumbly. “I just- I forgot my keys.”
“I’ll let you in.”
The silhouette disappears from view.
Bucky steps forward to retrieve his groceries from the steps of the building, and has just picked up the last can of cat food when the door opens. He looks up to meet the man who saved him from hypothermia.
And what a man it is.

Summary
Eigentlich ist gerade alles gut.
Dass nicht wirklich alles geklärt ist, gerade zwischen ihm und Adam, das weiß Leo am besten. Aber es ist gut. Und das darf auch gerne erstmal so bleiben.
Doch dann kommt Adams Ex-Freund aus Berlin zu Besuch und plötzlich ist gar nicht mehr alles gut. Für Leo zumindest nicht.

Leo atmete tief durch, bevor er sein Büro betrat. „Guten Morgen, mein Name ist Leo Hölzer , willkommen in-“
Sein Atem stockte. Er hatte ihn so oft gesehen, in anderen Gesichtern, im Augenwinkel ein Schatten, der ihm ähnelte. Hatte ihn gesucht, vielleicht, ihn wieder sehen wollen. Ihn auf den ersten Blick in einem Fremden erkannt, auf den zweiten war er es doch nicht gewesen. Sein Anblick hatte Leo verfolgt, all die Jahre, an den Rändern schon verschwommen, aber er hatte ihn nie losgelassen. Nie vergessen.
Jetzt stand er plötzlich vor ihm, und die Zeit schien für einen Moment still zu stehen. Er war es, ganz ohne Zweifel. Dieselben blauen Augen, dasselbe kantige Gesicht. Und auf einmal waren all die Erinnerungen wieder da. Adam, der immer da war, um ihn zu beschützen. Sich jeder Ungerechtigkeit gegenüberstellte, der Leo begegnete. Es war, als wäre er auch jetzt wieder da, weil Leos Unglück ihn zu sich gerufen hatte.
Und er sah gut aus, verdammt. In seinem schwarzen Rollkragen, und den längeren blonden Haaren. Er sah gut aus.
„Adam.“

Adam trug ein Hemd. Und bei Leo gingen die Alarmglocken im Kopf los, als er seine Wohnungstür öffnete an diesem Freitagabend.
Krabbenfischen im Eismeer vor Alaska ist ungefährlicher als das organisierte Wiedersehen mit früheren Schulkollegen. Was Leo sehr genau weiß und weshalb er ganz sicher nicht an etwas teilnimmt, das mittlerweile ein eigenes Krimi-Genre bildet.
